Replacement of the façade of the monoblock building of the Hospital del Mar with a high technical performance curtain wall
GARCIA FAURA is finishing the rehabilitation works of 425 square metres of the north and west façade of the monoblock building of the Hospital del Mar. The aim is to improve its energy efficiency and offer a greater comfort to users and professionals.
The intervention, which has lasted about three months, has consisted of the complete replacement of the old facade of one of the buildings of the health complex of the Hospital del Mar, by a new curtain wall which solves the problems of thermal insulation of the building and offers better protection against the sun’s rays.
Without hindering the care activity of the building, GARCIA FAURA has dismantled the elements of the old facade and has developed and installed the new curtain wall, high technical performance, with low emissivity double glazing and solar control.
These characteristics guarantee a great reduction of the negative effects of the solar radiation in the interior of the building, at the same time that the sunlight is used to the maximum for the habitual activity of this sanitary equipment.
The project was developed by the Refurbishment and After-sales Division, which specialises in projects for the study and improvement of existing façades and enclosures. Its technical, engineering and installation teams jointly analyse different possibilities for improvement to tackle refurbishment projects for residential buildings or services.
