Aluminium enclosures from GARCIA FAURA at the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya
GARCIA FAURA will participate in the renovation and refurbishment of the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya, in Barcelona, located near the Sants station. This establishment, reopened in 2004, already has noble halls, spa rooms and renovated suites. The remainder of the rooms are to be refurbished throughout this year.
The Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya occupies a building constructed in the 1970s, where before there had been offices. With the refurbishment (which has secured an investment of €30 million), the hotel will have a Nobu restaurant on its 23rd floor (with 360° views of Barcelona) but will lose rooms, reducing from the current 272 to 265.
GARCIA FAURA will install 870 square metres of aluminium enclosures, mainly in windows with hidden leaf profiles, to maximise incoming natural light. Windows will feature a straight line design and maximised ergonomics. High thermal efficiency doors will also be installed.
Other works that GARCIA FAURA will undertake in this hotel will be the installation of new glass rails and the replacement of all the current curtain wall glazing for other glass panels with better thermal and acoustic performance.
The Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya is the property of the Selenta group but is managed by Nobu Hospitality. Selenta currently own six hotels, three of which are located in Barcelona, and the remainder in Marbella, Tenerife and Valencia. In total, it has 2800 rooms and a staff of 1400 people.
