Façade by GARCIA FAURA for the new headquarters of the SEM in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona)

GARCIA FAURA will install more than 7.000 square meters of curtain wall in the new headquarters of the Medical Emergency Service (SEM) that is being built next to the hospital complex Duran i Reynals, in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona).

The Emergency Medical Service (SEM) of Catalonia will have a new headquarters at the southern entrance to Barcelona. It is a building of some 21,000 square metres designed in such a way as to facilitate its integration into the campus of the Catalan Institute of Oncology in a natural and balanced way, respecting the spaces of other facilities on the Hospital Duran i Reynals campus or the Hestia Health and Social Care Centre.

The new building will have a flat and diaphanous interior structure, free of pillars, which will allow a high degree of adaptability and flexibility, as well as good natural lighting and a perfect interrelation between the users and the landscaped spaces outside.

The façade being developed by GARCIA FAURA will become a key element in the contribution to this comfort. There will be 7.100 square metres of stick curtain wall, with high acoustic performance glazing, complemented with 800 square metres of exterior sunshade formed by an aluminium substructure and deployé mesh.
