Situated in Barcelona’s Zona Alta, in a location well-served by a wide range of businesses, the Beethoven building covers a surface area of almost 7,000 square metres, intended for retail and office use. The building offers a functional and practical design with the intention of promoting the efficiency and profitability of the space without being to the detriment of comfort.
GARCIA FAURA installed a new curtain wall in front of the existing one. It comprises 2,178 square metres with Corten steel finish and 203 inward-opening shutter windows installed in the curtain wall. For this project, the Technical Department has been working with a particularly innovative system which allows the new facade to be installed in front of the existing one. Once the installation was completed, the previous facade was dismantled from inside. This meant that the building was not without a facade at any point during the process, and therefore any impact on its day-to-day operation was minimal.
