The Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat regional railway S2 line extension project included the construction and development of railway facilities in the city of Sabadell. During this phase of the project, the Sabadell-Plaça Major and Sabadell-Can Feu facilities were constructed, along with everything entailed in the creation of new underground stations: construction of partitions and enclosures, pavements, cladding, the installation of escalators and lifts and the installation of the lighting, ventilation and sanitation system.
The works undertaken by GARCIA FAURA stand out for the complex inclined cladding of the tunnels that make up the access stairs to the platforms. The cladding has a composition that is matched with great precision to the existing tubular structure, which involves a highly complex perimetre assembly. Also noteworthy is the work performed in the ventilation towers, clad with two different types of composite in line with the platform paving. The installation is completed with all types of cladding with lacquered checkerboard (horizontal, vertical elements, access doors, emergency doors, etc.) and the set of pillars and beams at the station’s entrance from the outside, with composite cladding and highly complex checkerboard.
