New passenger terminal in the Port of Barcelona for one of the largest cruise liner companies in the world. The Grimaldi Group invested more than €20 million in its new Muelle de Costa terminal. A new infrastructure, conceptualised by Yannic Levêque, with capacity for 1,800 boarding and disembarking passengers. It comprises a three-storey building with a floor space of 3,750 m2, a paved esplanade and a platform with 3 connecting walkways between the terminal and the berths.
For these works, GARCIA FAURA fabricated and installed a curtain wall some 9 metres in height without intermediate support in the stairwell. The glazing of this curtain wall is attached mechanically to the structure. In addition, the profile used in the work was extruded especially for the project to fulfil the customer’s technical and aesthetic requirements. The project is finished with the set of aluminium doors, lattices and interior glass screens that make up the passenger cabins.
