The renovation of the Renault Dacia dealership in Esplugues de Llobregat, the work of the Alonso & Balaguer studio, combines functionality with aesthetics in a building formerly used for industrial and commercial purposes. The project took into account the exterior installation in creating a double skin from micro-perforated sheet with flat geometry and no edges. This type of installation not only fulfils a decorative function, but also adds other values to the building. Furthermore, when combined with a second layer of glazed facade, this multiplies the radiation filtering effects, providing a means of solar and visual control. The outer sheet metal panels contribute to filtering sunlight and act as an umbrella that prevents direct glare entering from the outside.
GARCIA FAURA signs off on the curtain wall installation designed with large-scale transparent overhangs, providing a general view from the outside of the vehicles showcased inside. The perforated sheet cladding has been adapted with great precision to a substructure of iron tubes, curved at the corners with the sheets positioned with millimetric precision to generate vertical joints that meet the guidelines of the architectural project.
