GARCIA FAURA enclosures for the refurbishment of three Vapor Cortès warehouses in the city of Terrassa
GARCIA FAURA manufactures and installs the joinery for the future vocational workshop and cerebral palsy centre that the Prodiscapacitats Foundation (Prodis) is building in three warehouses in the former Vapor Cortès industrial complex in Terrassa.
The origins of Vapor Cortès date back to the late 1920s, when they were set up in an already industrial area in the Ca n’Aurell district of Terrassa. The area prospered until the 1990s, when it began to decline irreparably.
Prodis, a not-for-profit organisation that works with adults with intellectual disabilities, mental illness or cerebral palsy, will equip 4,942 square metres of this complex with facilities whose architectural design is due to the architects, H Arquitectes.
The project involves maintaining part of the structure of the old industrial complex, for which GARCIA FAURA is manufacturing and installing around a hundred steel and glazed joineries with high acoustic performance.
The joinery will be of various types: fixed, sets of patio doors and windows with different types of opening. It also includes a series of folding and motorised windows and doors.
GARCIA FAURA has chosen a system of thermally insulated, high-strength steel profiles with a highly durable component that is 100% recyclable, as they do not contain any additional synthetic insulating materials.
The joinery combines the latest technology, energy efficiency, design and environmentally-friendly use of materials to contribute to sustainable and responsible construction.
